The color of hydrangeas depends on the soil pH
Our hydrangea soil has an optimal pH of 5.0–6.5. In acidic soils (pH 5.0–5.5), garden hydrangea flowers take on shades of blue, while in less acidic soils (pH above 6.0), they bloom pink or red.
