• Growing different varieties of heaths and heathers
• Growing heaths and heathers in pots and containers: at home (small specimens), on balconies and terraces, in gardens
• Growing heaths and heathers in the soil
• Rooting of heaths and heathers
• Peat
• Green compost
• Compost from bark
• Expanded clay
• Fertilizer
• Salinity: < 2,0g/l
• Structure: 0-40mm
• The best time to plant heathers and heathers is spring and autumn
• The day before transplanting, water the plant
• The product is mechanically pressed - before use it is recommended to loosen it and, if necessary, when the surface is dry, soak it with water
• Heathers and heaths love sunny positions, sheltered from the wind; they grow great on balconies
Transplanting into pots
• We choose a clean pot with drainage holes, larger than the root ball
• Pour drainage to the bottom of the pot (e.g. expanded clay), followed by a heather and heath substrate
• Insert the plant and fill the pot up to 2 cm below the edge of the pot
• After transplanting, lightly knead the substrateand water it moderately, without wetting the plant
Transplanting to soil
• Planted at 20-30 cm intervals
• We dig a hole approx. 30% larger than the root ball and fill it partly with heather and heath ground
• Then put the root ball and fill the hole with heather and heath substrate
• With larger quantities, e.g. several dozen pieces of heather, it is good to create an approximately 20 cm layer in which we will plant plants
• Just after transplanting, moderately watering, directly to the ground.
Seed
• Heathers do not require frequent fertilization, so once a year it is best to spread around the plant 2 cm of garden compost (during the flowering period, foliar fertilizer with trace elements can be used, which will make the plant have a nice color and strength to bloom for a long time)
Watering
• Heathers and heaths do not tolerate large amounts of water and wet locations
• Grow well at constant humidity
• Young plants need more watering
• The pot should be watered regularly, but moderately, e.g. in the summer 1-2 times a week (in winter we do not water, we leave the plants in hibernation)
Winter coverup
• Especially for small seedlings and heathers and heaths grown on the balcony
• Can be covered with needles, cartons, agrotextile
• Heathers and heaths should not be covered with foil (ordinary, bubble, etc.)
Cropping
• It is necessary for the plant to be dense and bloom profusely
• Pruning after flowering in autumn (September) or spring, under the overblown shoot, because it is in this place the next season will grow new branches
